João Faria is a Specialist in Clinical Pathology and works as an Assistant Physician at Vila Franca de Xira Hospital. A graduate in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, he dedicates himself to laboratory medicine and, in his clinical practice, seeks to promote health through an approach based on the best available scientific evidence.

His interest in medicinal cannabis arose from observing its potential benefits in different clinical contexts, deepening his knowledge in this area through specific training, continuous study of scientific evidence and experience in its use in a clinical setting. He maintains a particular interest in the therapeutic application of cannabinoids and their safe and grounded integration into medical practice.

In his presentation at PTMC, exclusive to Health Professionals, he will address the topic “Medicinal Cannabis: Scientific Bases, Clinical Evidence and Practical Application,” sharing a grounded perspective on mechanisms of action, current clinical evidence and some of the main practical aspects relevant to healthcare professionals.
